May the 4th Be With You - Monday, May 4

This week, we are comparing two books on the same subject.
We will listen to a fiction book (story book) and a nonfiction book (real).
After listening to the books, talk about how they’re the same and how they’re different.
Click each book to listen.

This week, the kids will be able to write about anything they’d like to (narrative stories, opinions, informational topics). Our lessons will continue to spotlight writing skills on the Writing Checklist we use in our classrooms.  Let’s continue with ending punctuation.
Following the lesson, your child can choose a writing topic.

Play Subtraction Bowling.  Set up  some water bottles or toilet paper rolls.  Roll a ball.
Write a number sentence to tell how many fell over (click for form below or just use paper).
(i.e. 10 – 3 = 7, 5 – 3 = 2).

Then watch Subtraction Action
